Donors Choose -- Flexible Seating

I believe in making my classroom a place where students feel safe, supported, and comfortable! First grade students work hard and have a lot of fun! In our classroom, I work hard to provide students with different "flexible seating" options.  Flexible seating options allow students to choose the learning environment that works best for them.  In our classroom, we currently have Hokki stools (wobble stools), lap desks, scoop rockers, adirondack chairs, and traditional tables/chairs.  I am excited about the new flexible seating option in our classroom... A FLOOR TABLE! A floor table allows students to be able to sit on the floor and work at a table.  I think that it will be popular with the students.  In order to make this space as comfortable as possible for students, I would like to get soft seats and wobble cushions.  In order to make that possible, I have created a DonorsChoose project.  Donors Choose is an AMAZING website that allows teachers to request materials for their classroom that they would not normally be able to provide for their students due to budget cuts, etc.  Through Donors Choose, I have been able to get 8 Hokki stools for our classroom, 4 lap desks, 5 tables, and a mailbox system! If you are interested in contributing to our flexible seating options, please click the link below.  Thank you so much!

Dear First Grade Families,
I hope you've been having a great summer! My summer has been filled with horseback riding, spending time at the pool, and even a whitewater rafting adventure! I have been spending some time at the school getting our classroom ready and I am excited to get to know all of my new students! I am looking forward to meeting you all at the Meet the Teacher (see letter from Ms. Gamache and Mrs. Durost).  Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions.  Take care, Mrs. Kristen Greene
